The tips and information is not enought     On: 2000-10-31

I am peruvian and I bought the book because I want to travel to Ecuador and I had been good experiences with this colecttion in Europe. But this book is incomplete and have only the half of tips and information that you can obtain in the Lonely Planet Book, in december they go to edit a 2001 edition. This guide only want the cheapest places to stay and eat, but Peru and Ecuador are really cheap countries, and you can find a fine place por US$ 10 per night, but the book only show you the places below US$ 8, and the difference in quality is huge.
Good option for country guides

I managed to find by casualty this Lets Go Guide. It was the first time I used and I felt impressed. I was accostumed to use the South American Handbook, also a good one, but after i found Lets Go, it helped me a lot with my trip to Ecuador specifically. There are good hotel recommendations on the cheaper way, some places to go off the beaten trails... how to take advantage of your time when visiting the ecuatorian jungle... and more!

Good to mention are the maps they include. Detailed and helpful, when i was exploring I realised there was more in the map than in the site itself. So, you couldnt felt lost. Good research and graphical concise work. For those who are travelling both countries in a low budget basis and want detailed and specific, not general info, I definitely recommend this guidebook!
