The Peru expedition is a great introduction to travel for those of us who because of empty pockets or an adventurous streak want to rough it a bit...Bradys descriptions are colorful and honest, his drawings quirky, and his bits of homespun advice are entertaining, if not informative: for instance, Brady suggests that if you are planning to hike in high altitudes, its a very bad idea to get very drunk the night before. The Peru Expedition is a whole lot of fun and information packed into a very accessable, easy to read, comic book format...I enjoyed it very much.

Brady has combined both art and text to portray his experiences in traveling throughout the world. You not only learn, like you do from other travel books, you enjoy the experiences with him and his friends. He has the unique ability to make you think you are also on the journey. It is not like just going to see certain artifacts and historical sites, he tells you about the people he meets, the restaraunts he eats at, and the hotels he stays. The stories make me want to stay and eat at the places he did on these journeys. This is a must read, or if you dont feel like reading, the stories can be told by the art itself.

THIS IS HE BEST TRAVEL MAGAZINE ON THE PLANET! THE AUTHOR "BRADY SMITH" DOES AN INCREDIBLE JOB OF MAKING ONE FEEL AS IF THEY HAD BEEN ON A ADVENTURE WITH HIM. HIS DETAIL IS VERY CREDULOUS TO THE PLACES HE HAS BEEN. THIS IS THE BEST TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY THAT I HAVE READ.

Well, since I was in this book I will have to say it is excellent. I went to college with Brady and we got the chance to travel with three other friends in Peru. It was amazing, I highly recommend Peru to everyone. As for someone thinking, "no, this doesnt happen in real life", well, it does. Bradys works are well written, can bring you to tears with laughter and the sketches are perfect. He is one of the funniest people I know. I hope you enjoy the books! Oh, his artwork is excellent as well. I own one of his works.
