This is a great coffee if you like the taste of a dark robust brew. I like it myself, but my wife says its a touch on the strong side. Ive cut back on the amount of coffee I use for our brew cycle. The taste is satisfying and is not bitter at all. If you like a dark Colombian, give it a try.

Theres really nothing more to say that the others havent already said. The beans are dark, oily, fragrant. I fell in love with these the second I unsealed the bag. Yes, fell in love. I use a plain ol Krups blade grinder and brew in a Melitta cone with near boiling water. The resulting brew is smooth, rich, full (all those buzz words you see on coffee bags, but actually true in this case).
Further, these beans do something none other have; keep. Ive had these same beans for months in an air-tight and light-proof container, the way I keep all my beans. But unlike most beans which eventually dry out and lose flavor, these are still pretty oily and retain nearly all of the flavor it had to begin with.
As for these being decaf, I dont doubt L.Gregory had decaf beans, but I get a pretty nice buzz when I drink a cup. There have been days when Ive lost sleep because I couldnt resist that end-of-the-day mud. I cant verify whether what (s)he says is true because Ive long since discarded the bag. Maybe theres a pyschological component. I feel invigorated because its so full-flavored. Kind of like I feel after a shot of espresso even though per ounce, espresso contains less caffeine than regular coffee. In any case, I love this stuff and recommend it to anyone whos serious about coffee.
Im completely sold on these beans. From now on, for my money, theres nothing like Cafe Altura. I cant wait to try the other flavors. At under $10/lb, how can you afford not to try it at least once?

Weve finished our second 2 lb. bag of this coffee and its great. I make the coffee for my honey and he always notices and comments on the great flavor of this coffee.

I am a coffee snob, so I am very picky about my coffee. This coffee is so amazing. The beans are beautiful! They are dark and shiny. The smell is wonderful too. This coffee is a must for all of you coffee lovers out there!

This is a great tasting coffee but and this is a BIG but, its DECAF. No where on the web page does it mention this and when you get the package it doesnt look to be decaf either but if you turn to the side of the bag it clearly states; swiss water process decaf. Really disappointing!

The Cafe Altura Columbian dark whole bean coffee is absolutely delicious. Its the best whole bean coffee I have tasted. It has great aroma & a full body taste.

Superb flavor. Organic product from small growers. Dark, oily beans. Lovers of dark roast coffee will appreciate this coffee.
