Why Shop Our Alpaca Collection
Inca Maine works directly with small workshops in Cusco, Puno, and Arequipa to bring genuine alpaca wool products to New England. We stock four core categories: sweaters and cardigans for layering warmth, ponchos and wraps rooted in traditional Andean dress, accessories such as scarves and chullo hats, and blankets woven for everyday luxury.
Our fiber comes in two main grades. Royal alpaca (under 18 microns) is the softest category, rivaling premium cashmere. Baby alpaca (18-22 microns) is the first shearing from young animals and offers the best balance of warmth, durability, and price. Every product label tells you which grade you are buying.
Unsure which piece suits your climate or style? Our alpaca vs cashmere breakdown explains the key differences, and our care guide helps your purchase last decades.
